i purchased my first veiled about a month and a half ago from a local pet store. after i brought her home i figured out that she was female and hadnt been taken care of properly. i have been trying to nurse her back to health and i can see a difference already. as for my enclosure the pet store set me up with a zoomed naturalistic that is about 15x15x15. zilla slimline 15 with uvb bulb, and the heat lamp is flukers with a 75 watt reptasun inside i can tell my cham is not a baby but im not sure on how old she actually is because it was unknown at tthe time of purchase. inside the enclosure i have a lot of small vines/sticks, an exo terra fake plant, and started a clone from a pothos in my office. the plant seeems to be doing well but it is not of a decent size yet. i use rainforest moss as a substrate (the brick stuff you put in water). i feed her two to three times a day a variety of crickets, grasshoppers, catydids, moths, butterworms, superworms. she does not like me putting my hands in the cage, as she usually hisses and opens her mouth; unlesss i have food she will hand feed

Ok, First, he needs to be in a screen cage. Thats not a big deal, the glass is fine for now. For the uvb use a tube reptisun 5.0. Do not use substrate.
Im sorry I cant help much, im at school. But if you have any questions, just ask me~:)

yea, just get a 5.0 uv tube, a normal 60w house bulb is fine for heat in the future. also screen cages are readily avalible in bigger sizes for when shes older or even now. use papertowles as substrate and gte rid of the moss asap cuz they can eat it and it may become impacted in their system and or choke on it. dudt with calcium W/O D3 every other feeding and dust with a vitamin and calcium WITH d3 twice a month, other than that if u have more questions just ask

what's the difference between the reptisun and the zilla bulb that came with the unit? am i ok to use the current bulb until it burns out? also i was thinking a watermelon peperomia instead of ficus have any of you ever used this plant with chams before i read that peperomia is a nontoxic. i have been dusting crickets about twice a week using cal w/out d3 and the reptivite w/ d3 every 2.5 to three weeks or so

also about the substrate i thought that the moss/plant matter would be ok to use since chams also eat plants and ive actually caught her eating a piece of the substrate twice i thought it was ok because it is essentially just plant matter but if not i was thinking of getting that green zilla stuff that looks like the green on a golf course (kinda gawdy though)
