I have this one.
This is what my levels are with this one.
Measurement is from screen down and the UVI level that coordinates with it. With a quad T5HO fixture and a 12% Arcadia UVB bulb in farthest postion back in the fixture on a Dragon Strand Enclosure.…
3 inches = 4.5 UVI
4 inches = 3.8 UVI
5 inches = 3.0 UVI
6 inches = 2.5 UVI
7 inches = 2.1 UVI
8 inches = 1.8 UVI
9 inches = 1.4 UVI
10 inches = 1.2 UVI
11 inches = 1.0 UVI
12 inches = 0.8 UVI
15 inches = 0.01 UVI to nothing

That’s what I was afraid of. If there was such a thing as a “safe bet” what would that be
The only way to have a better idea is to mimic what someone else has using the same fixture, bulbs, and cage type...
Everything plays into UVI levels from the loss of it through the screen, To if it is multiple bulbs, to how far away from basking. Otherwise the only way to have a for sure idea is to have a solarmeter 6.5. No other way. Even mimicing is not a guarantee it just gives you an approximate range.

Thank you so much for all the information! I went ahead and ordered the one without the timer! Im looking forward to it getting here already!

Oh and one last thing! Can anyone recommend a misting machine for when im at work and cant spray down the enclosure! Last question I swear lol!

Good just remember your UVI levels will not be the same as mine that I shared with you. Ask Todd what he would recommend for basking distance for that fixture for a veiled to get a 3 uvi. You can email him.
Awesome! Could you supply me with his email please?

Thanks so much, Beman! You have been absolutely awesome with all your help and responses!
Thank you for being the reminder that there are some people that come here that will do everything to make sure their husbandry is perfect for their Cham. It can get a little heartbreaking for us regulars to give out advice that people either fight us on or ignore. You will be a great Keeper. Just remember this is a hobby where you will constantly be learning. Be open to it because recommendations do change as the knowledge of these incredible animals expands. :) Welcome to our Cham family!
