New to veiled have simple question.

I have read several books and looked on line , can someone tell me what is a good color for a 3 week old veiled. Mikey is a nice pale green with some cream spots Eats well,drinks and is growing from when i bought him 1 week ago. What would a bad color be?

This is a good color. There really is no "bad colors" Mine is always green and gets blue spots and stripes when he's hunting for a cricket

My cham's vet told me if they turn all black and stay all black that is Very bad. My velied turns bright green when he is happy and dark green/black when he is mad..

Black really doesn't mean bad, just that they're really pissed off. But if they stay black for awhile that means something is very bad. So if they're black for a short amount of time, they're just mad.

p.s. Dark coloration can also mean they are too cold. Baby basking temp should be no more than 85 degrees though.

I was a first time owner and received mine when he was 1.5 months old at the time. He stayed green all the time. Now he is 5 months old and is brown some and green some among other colors.

I can't believe someone sold you such a little guy. Do all your research so your baby has the best chance possible. Black only means you probably just ticked him off again. Get use to it, nothing to worrry about. LOL Good luck.
