I have had my Veiled Chameleon about 28 hours now, he ate around 6pm and then ate this morning around 9am... Only reason I fed him last night and didn't wait until this morning was I figured after being on a plane for 24 hours he would be hungry. I plan on feeding him every morning and not evening so he would have all day to digest his meal.

My question is, He has not pooped since he has come here, Is that normal and how often do they poop? thanks

Hello and glad you have your first cham. How old is your cham? The amount and frequency of pooping has a lot to do with type and size of cham. We all love pictures of chams.:D

Hi

Chameleons, like all reptils are ectotherm (cold-blood) so the digestion depends to internal temperature who change during the day. So, the digestion is longer than for mammals. They aren't also fed every day (exept juvenile).
i never pay attention but they must defecated about every 3-4 days for adults and every days for juveniles

His name is Randall and he is a Turquoise Veiled Chameleon and is 4 months old. :)

He is cute! At that age, after he is acclimated to his new surroundings and eating properly, he will poop almost every day. It all depends on how fast he digests his meals. My little boy is about that age and will occasionally skip a few days. I would make sure to mist his enclosure a little extra for the first day so he can stay hydrated (unless you have a dripper going). This could help as he learns his new environment. I'm not sure how much research you have done, but if you post a picture of his enclosure, we can try to give some pointers if we notice some opportunities! Welcome to the forum and best of luck to you and Randall :).

My male veiled is almost 4.5 months old. He poops about 4-5 times a week, so going a couple of days without pooping is nothing to worry about. Also, you said he was in transit for a long time, so wouldn't have eaten for awhile. It takes some time for the food to make its way through. Just a warning though: don't be shocked by the size of the poop. My guy's first poop was way bigger than I would have expected :D

^^^^^This is what I was going to say.^^^^^^^

My little guy is 3 months old, and he poops every day or two. It is nothing to worry about for him to skip a day. I have to second the recommendation to prepare for big poop! I am still amazed sometimes at what comes out of little Kush! Your cham is so cute! Is it a male or female and what name did you pick out?

Nevermind! I just noticed above his picture it says his name is Randall! My bada!
