Hey guys, picked up this guy,Spock, about 7 months ago from a friend, I had no idea how to treat a chameleon or where to even begin, my friend hooked me up with everything I needed and taught me how to care for him. Whenever I had problems with him or thought I did I would B-line it to my computer and come to this site. It helped so much.
Just recently, he bled from the lip. I thought this was mouth rot, so i called my local reptile zone and he recommended me a vet for my cham. I was really nervous about bringing him, since he doesn't like to be out of his cage for very long, all the dogs in the waiting room, and most importantly, the vet, I watched some you tube vet fuck with a chameleon so bad I almost canceled my appointment. But I stayed true and went. He was very calm the whole time surprisingly, and even let us open his mouth where his cut was. We disinfected and he sent me home with some chlorhexidine solution. He also gave Spock a vitamin booster shot, with B and c vitamins or something I can't remember. But he took it like a champ, he didn't change colors and was green and vibrant the whole trip. When he got home he was a little grumpy, but I had to take him out today to disinfect the lip and he was willing and let me clean it
The vet also said he was very healthy, and was not showing any signs of MBD or vitamin deficiencies.
After all, it was defiantly worth the 80$ to find out my chameleon was very healthy and just needed some disinfectant before it became mouthrot. The vet i saw was Dr. Maas and he treated me cham amazing, he even let the cham be higher than him so he felt more dominant. And when opening his mouth and cleaning him, we let him do it, it was never forced upon. Very great experience
Tell me what you think of Spock
and there will be upcoming post with his cut, cleaning it, and the progress of the cut. Thanks everyone
