I've been thinking about getting a Chameleon and have been doing research on care and supplies, but am wondering where I might find the best places to buy equipment (i.e. cage, lighting, ect.) for a decent price.

I'm also wondering where would be the best places to look for buying a Chameleon (been thinking about getting a Jackson's Chameleon). I've seen that FLchams has been recommended by a bunch of people, but are there any other places. Also I live in Orlando so if there are any local shops that anyone knows about I would love to know about them.

Sorry if this is the hundredth time that a post like this has been made.

Don't worry about it, we've all been there, asking what feel like obvious questions! Top right of this page you can view the list of forum sponsors, they are a really good place to start. DIY Cages sell excellent cages at reasonable prices, Josh's Frogs do good prices on the other bits and pieces. Go have a rummage, and see what you think.

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. You live in the right place to have a chameleon because Dr. Ivan Alfonso is in Orlando and he's one of the best chameleon vets in the US. I'm two hours away and he's my vet. I have a blog for new keepers linked below. It's really for veileds and panthers but you can still use the links in it for where to buy all your chameleon supplies.

Welcome! Congrats on considering a chameleon and doing your research and equipment planning first.. You've come to the right place for any help you many need, there are tons of great people here with much experience with pretty much any available species..

Be warned... once you pull the trigger, everyone will expects lots of pictures :)

Welcome to the forums, defiantly check out the site sponsors, they are all the best chameleon related product sites out there. And people aren't just pluging them because they are sponsors, i have done a Ton of searching and can say from experience they are all great.
Finding these forums is a GREAT first step to becoming an experienced chameleon owner. I bought a veiled a little over a year ago without knowing a damn thing, but being well experienced with unique pets quickly found this forum, and have never had even 1 issue. Hes healthy happy and in a large custom enclosure. Have learned an immense amount just reading other peoples posts. And am now starting to answer questions and correct the husbandry of the reputable pet store that just a year ago was reluctant to even sell me a cham lol.

Yeah, lots and lots of pictures.:D

Thank you so much for the tips, I'll definitely check out the sponsors and the sights mentioned.

@Jannb it's funny I had just found a post of yours with a link to your blog right before you had posted on this thread.

It'll probably be a few months before I actually get a chameleon, but when I do I will post plenty pictures :D.

Actually you are post 102 like this ;)
but i never get tired of seeing it! Welcome to the forum! I am very happy to see your doing your research first! You have made the best decision in cham owner ship so far!

Our site sponsers in the top left corner are all excellent! I like LLLREPTILE.com and diycages.com personally but be sure to shop around!

I see you've got good info from everyone. Keep your eyes open for sandrachameleon she's our resident nutrition expert! And super nice!

Have u considered a species yet? anything striking you?

Welcome! If you're on a "budget" be sure to check out your local Craigslist listings for equipment. I've seen pretty decent deals come thru every now and then!

*edit* Sponsors are obviously a great starting point and we should support them whenever possible... :D

Good save ;)

I've been thinking about eventually getting a Jackson's. From what I've read they seem to be generally more friendly. I also think they look really cool with their horns.
