Hey guys I'm new the chameleon world and i bought a panther about a week ago. I am just trying to touch bases with everyone here and figure out sex and local. I was told i bought a nosy faly and was just wondering your guys opinions. I have read that you guys need better pics of the backside and tail and i will update this sometime tomorrow when he/she is awake.
Thanks,

That is a female from the tail base of the last picture, but unfortunately there is no way to tel the locale. If the breeder says its a Nose faly, then you will have to take their word for it. You cannot tell what locale this young by coloring even if it were a male. Most of the females when older are brownish/orangeish in color. You would be able to tell if it were a male as its colors start to develop. Locales can be determined with most panthers as they mature. One thing to note, if you are aware or not, that chameleons do not sleep during the day. They will only close their eyes during the day if there is some type of illness, incorrect lighting from their enclosure possibly or even stress will cause this. I cannot see its eyes open in any of the pictures, or maybe it is looking downwards?

awesome thanks for the feedback. one of the pics she is looking down one prob too dark to see and the one in the light I'm not sure but her eyes are def closed in that. i tried to do as much research as possible before buying and these pics were taking when i was repotting some plants with a sand/husk mixture so i took her outside for a bit. but here is a picture of her cage i just took for you guys to look at and will get better pics in the day time if needed.

The enclosure looks good! I would get rid of the red light though. Is that your basking light? And no light needed at night. Light can disrupt their sleep patterns. I would also take one of your branches or doll rods and put that horizontally under your basking light about 8 inches down. If your chameleon climbs on that plant under the light to bask, it may get burned. Lastly, I am pretty confident from that one picture that you have a female. It would not hurt in the next couple of weeks to update a picture and ask again. The older they get, the easier it is to tell their gender.

awesome! yeah the red light is my night basking light but thats good to know that i don't need one at night. that one branch you might not be able to tell in the pic but it is about 7 inches down and a vine next to it for her to bask in her day bulb with i have a 80 watt mercury vapor bulb in there.

oh also if someone cause guesstimate the age for me and if it is a female then how soon should i put something out for her to lay eggs in and how big would be the minimum container as I'm kinda concerned on the space.
