Got the XL Reptibreeze yesterday and set it all up, he's been more colourful and roaming around allot seem much happier.

Just one problem is that he climb on to the roof of the mesh and if he goes under the bulb he just burn so at the moment i have just put tape so he can't as you can see in the pitcher?so any ideas

He hasn't climb on the mesh today so don't no if he was just trying to escape yesterday because its a new place but there that chance he will climb on the mesh and go on the roof.

Put the basking bulb at a 45 degree angle on the side of the tank. it shouldnt be sitting on top of the screen unless its a very low wattage unit.

I did put it up there with the clip but then it goes even hotter because got to have it on even brighter to get the basking temp right? Why can't it be on top?

Wouldn't it be the same on the top than the side?but more dangerous on the side because he's most likely to go on the side than the top

having the light on the side of the enclosure is not a good idea. I belongs on top. The bulb shouldn't be touching the screen of course.

having lots of branches for him to choose instead of climbing the screen is the best plan. you don't want them on the screen as they can pull out their toenails. You don't have any branches under the lights (within a few inches), so it is not surprising he is climbing the screen
(if the temp at a branch a few inches under the bulb is too hot, reduce the bulb wattage or lift it higher off the cage)

The branch is about 10inch away and is 84F I have a dimming probe so I can turn the light up or down.
He hasn't climb on the screen today or yesterday just the day I put him in,He's got so much colour comeing out off him since I put him in here!?

How far should he be away from the uv light ??
