So I went ahead and purchased the new reptology hd cage in the 24x24x48 for my little guys new home and am really satisfied with it. For those who dont havent seen one the new features are an acrylic front door for hd vision as they call it. I like this feature alot since you are no longer looking through screen at your chams. They also added a support bar across the top to prevent the screen from sagging due to lights a drippers and such.They also now have acsess now to run temp wires or misting tubes which they didnt have on earlier reptology scrren cages.
For plants I went with a braided schefflera the varigated gold version which Smeegz seems to really love climbing around. If you havent seen the new reptology climbing vines they are really sweet and very realistic. I aslo put in a nice golden pothos and a croton. I also got a watering vine from big apple herb which is basically a bendable vine with silk leaves, the tube of the vine connects to youre dripper and has lots of little holes so you get drips in lots of places along the vine.
For misting I went with the new Exo terra monsoon which I really like. I went with it cause I found it on amazon for 76$. I only have one cage so it works for me just fine. For drainage I got the drip pan from LLL reptile which is really sweet once you put a drain into it.
My neice made the menu for smeegz so we can display the daily specials, Its really cool I think. My lighting is a 24 inch light bar with a reptisun 5.0. His basking light just has a 60 watt light bulb.
Please critique ! I also want to know how to make sure my plants lower in the cage are getting enough light. I mean its pretty heavily planted and Im not sure the light penetrates through his canopy. Any ideas on this, thanks in advance ! [/ATTACH][/ATTACH]
