Damn Chad. Aren't you glad you have talk-text? Lol Yeah mantids are pretty fun to do. I'll be doing more soon I think...then again...it's so many flies....lol

Yeah humidity is easy. I just used top soil for substrate. Mist every few days. And add flies when you see there's only a couple left. Good point, don't mist while they're molting. It will kill them. I did once by accident.

It's best to have a bunch of miny homes ready(enough to house how ever many mantises you want to raise) and seperate them from the begging. The rest, release them in your house or garden. They'll kill all pest bugs( maybe a bird ). But really that's all there is to it. Feed them, separate them, mist, and give them climbing sticks. That easy.

IN YOUR HOUSE!!!??? People actually do that? When I was little, I brought a praying mantis in the house and lost it. Apparently was pregnant because months later we had hundreds of praying mantids crawling out from under our fridge. My mother wasn't exactly happy hahaha. I remember waking up that morning and the first thing I saw when I looked up was a mantis on my wall... They were EVERYWHERE in the house. My mom had to buy a bug bomb.....

Nope! I literally meant in your house! Haha They'll kill any small pest insect that makes their way inside. Mantids are harmless to people.

So are a lot of spiders, and they eat pest insects as well. Shall I bring you a sack full of spiders next time I see you buddy? I'm sure you would love them all over your house, seeing how well you like spiders and all........

Thanks! I added back in the Ming Aralia into his cage. He seems to like to crawl in it and bury himself in the thick leaves of it. Plus it's to cool looking to not have in there. Shoot me a text eh.

I think I pretty much got them all. I put a space heater on in the basement (this is where my feeders are) and surrounded it with sticky traps. The crickets couldn't resist the heat. As they tried to make their way to the heater, they would get caught on the sticky trap.
