Hes only 3 months old I got him yesterday and today I cup fed him 3 pinhead crickets and watched him drink so that was a relief, but hes still kind of skiddish of me when I put my hand in the cage to mist he usually crawls away and sometimes if I try to pick him up he opens his mouth so I'm just going to not touch him for a few days and just keep cup feeding him.

I was thinking of names for him I like the name Cali because he came from California and my girlfriend wants to call him Rampage lol but I'm still thinking of names any ideas?

Congrats on your new baby. I hope he ate more than 3 pinheads? Unless he's really tiny a 3 month old should be eating 10 to 15 1/4 crickets a day. I'm attaching my blog for new keepers for you below.

I put 5 in a cup dusted with calcium plus and he ate 3 then slowly turned away and started climbing leaves. Hes really small smaller then other 3 month old panthers I have seen on youtube, hes probably 2-2 1/2 inches long. Should I try feeding him again?

I would not offer food after 4:30 or so because they need time under the lights to heat up to digest their food. I'm guessing you have lights going out very soon? Let's hope he eats allot more tomorrow. Most babies like their feeders free range and don't do to well with cup feeding until older.

Oh ok good to know that and I read your blog btw very helpful. I usually go to bed around 12 and wakeup at around 8am so thats when the lights are off, My cage is really big so its hard for him to hunt thats why i tried cup feeding him but I have a smaller cage in the mail right now hopefully it gets here monday so I can just put crickets in his cage for him to catch.

He needs at least 12 hours of dark quite time at night and even more in the winter. My guys will sleep 13 to 14 hours in the winter.
