I understand that they should be a blacker color when they enter there new enviornment because they are stressed. He was a dark color when i took him out of the box and after I put him in his cage for a few min, but atm he is all white with his black stripes (panther cham).

I don't expect this to be a problem I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this means because I'm sure it is related to how he is feeling. He has been in the cage for 1hour, and was in a box before that for about 15hours I would estimate.

he came with a tiny tiny amount of shed on him so I don't feel he is about to shed.

and he just changed to a darker tint but its still pretty white

and what do you mean by no pigment?

what are your temps a cham will also go very ligh colors if it is trying to absord less heat from the light.

nothing is higher than 90 degrees, i dont even think it hits 87 and hes not even under the basking like atm so its probably 70-75 degrees

let me measure just to be safe

ya i was right its about 74 where he is atm and he has not even entered under teh basking like here it is 85+ degrees

hes 4 months old

and he cant access a spot that gets above 85 and RIGHT under the light isnt even 90 so he can't get burned, since he has been in the cage hes has stayed in the area that is around 75 degrees so temp.

at 4 months id bring that temp down closer to 80 for basking, once hes older you can greadually start to raise it up to 85ish

I, personally, would not worry. My 2 1/2 old baby did this yesterday after I brought him back into his cage from sunning outside. He returned to his shades of "concrete" gray and white after about 3 minutes.

Maybe he's a white..er looking cham. did you happen to find what his dad looked like? I've seen a few very light blue and chams with a lot of white in them.

Ha ha oreo cookie as my 7 year old described Rango when he was a midget lol! Not unusual at all just stressed!

my panther when he was about 2-3 months would be white with black stripes when "cruising" around his cage, then darker when basking and almost pure white while sleeping.

Your temps might have been slightly high, but I wouldn't worry about the "urban camo" color, now if he's really pale or colorless while awake there maybe a cause for concern

it was nothing extreme white it was more like the concrete white. The temp was not too high for him, when i went away he went black, and when I came back to mist his cage he turned white again, so every time he sees me he turns white so its just stress from being near me.

Thanks for all the input guys :)

And just to specify hes a blue barred ambilobe
