Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, Female, 1.5 to 2 months old, I just got her 2 days ago
Handling - I only grabbed her a couple of times when I cleaned her enclosure
Feeding - She's on a cricket and mealworm diet, gutloading the crickets with flukers orange cubes, and she eats 5-10 daily (for the past 2 days)
Supplements - Dusting the crickets with fluker's calcium w/ Vitamin D3, only done it once, just bought it today
Watering - I use a spray bottle (haven't bought a misting or fogging system yet) and I try to use it 3-4 times a day
Fecal Description - Only seen 2 droppings (substrate hides some, I presumre). She has been seen by a vet, but hasn't been tested by parasites.
History - She belonged to a female friend of mine, given to her by her ex-boyfriend. She had her for 22 days, about half of which she was completely unconcerned with her. She had no lamps until about a week ago, when my friend's sister bought her a couple of 50watt bulbs (day and night heat).
Cage Info:
Cage Type - 5 gallon glass tank with a stainless steel mesh top.
Lighting - ZooMed double lamp with uvb 5.0 and 50watt heat bulb at least 10 hours a day, switch off uvb and heat, turn on a night heat lamp (50watt) until the next day.
Temperature - Top is at around 85-90 degrees during the day, bottom between 80-85. At night it goes down by about 10 degrees
Humidity - I haven't found a hygrometer yet, so I don't know the humidity levels.
Plants - 2 silk plants and one 6ft long fluker's bendable tree branch.
Placement - Tank is located next to my desk, not directly under the ceiling fan, and pretty far away from the air vent. No one comes into my room. Tank is at around 3ft (height of my dresser, where the tank is).
Location - Edinburg, TX (South Texas)
Current Problem: I have noticed that she will raise her head sometimes when she's sleeping, then she will open her mouth, and sort of snort. This wakes her up for a bit, then she settles on a branch again, and falls asleep. This head raising can happen for more extended periods of time (I'm looking at her raised head right now). She also looks like she's going to throw up after she's done with the head raising (opening mouth, ventral side moving in a wave-like pattern). Another thing is that I sometimes see her sleep during the day, even with the heat lamps on. I bought her off my friend because she was going to just get rid of her, and I'm very worried that there is something wrong with her!
