New Owner, Need Advice!

My suggestion would be to buy a 8-12" plant stand so it's off the ground.
Would raise the plant higher so the Cham can hang out it in more if he wants. Only 1 of my Chams use the bottom 1/3 of his cage.

yes plastic vines are ok. As far as the silkworms you can buy ready made pods that come with the food and the worms. It cost about $20 for 50 worms. It lasted me about 3 weeks. The pod is cool cause alls you do is take the lid off and shake it upside down on a paper towel and all the poop comes out. The only thing silks will eat is mulberry leaves so their food is made of this. If you can find a tree around in your neighborhood then you could order more and have free food! Go to the Coastal Silkworm page. They are out of silkworms til mid august however. The crickets, you can get a 10 gallon tank with a screen lid. They require heat to survive and temps of about 90 degrees or so to thrive so alot of people use a light. I am lucky that I live in Florida and put them on my patio since April with no light and they thrive! You must feed them or gutload them well. They need a source of water but you cannot put a bowl or plate of water cause they can drown. o they can eat a variety of veggies and fruits. I use, Kale, romaine (dark leafy greens) etc. apple, mango, oranges, carrots. I have never used water of any kind and they get their hydration from the oranges and other fruits. Alot of people buy this stuff called Cricket Crack from I think TikiTiki Reptiles. If you have the cubes they can be used for a source of water but they need to be fed and fed well! What they eat, your cham eats. Make sure you do not use styrofoam plates to put food on because the crickets will eat it! Use a hard plastic plate or glass, something they cannot chew on. Also, you nned to keep the cricket cage sanitary. They poop and it looks like pepper! About every other day I take a wet paper towel and clean it out. There are tons of places to order crickets on the internet in bulk. I use L & H Bait in florida.I think that about covers it!

I just now caught him down at the bottom but I think it was only to check out the new plant. I'm sure he would like it if it were up higher. I was thinking about suspending it from the top of the cage somehow, but since for now I am moving the cage inside to outside maybe that would wobble too much. Thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely try to get it up higher. If the vines will hurry up and grow they will look nice wrapped around his artificial vines.
