So I "saved" this little guy today. At least in my eyes, I did...

I found "Spiderwoman" (I'll explain in a moment lol) on Craigslist. He was in a 48x13x21 (L x W x H) GLASS enclosure with a dead lilac bush laying on its side, still in the pot. There were wood chips as the floor. Nowhere to hide. Nowhere to climb... And was being fed ONLY supers with Calcium with D3 every day.

He's about 1.5 years old, the people said. Seems about right to me. He's definitely fully grown. But the funny thing is, they thought HE was a SHE. Hence, the name Spiderwoman. :p

I wanted a girl, so that's why I checked it out. But after seeing him in person--his sweet personality and cool colors, along with knowing what he was living in--was just too much. I had to take him. It didn't matter the sex...

So, I present to you, SpiderMAN (I call him Peter--anyone who's read Ender's Game and knows Spiderman's true identity will understand the "dual-meaning" in his name haha ;)).

He's now living in a 36x24x48 mesh enclosure, with a pothos, pilea (both hanging), a colius and a king colius (both planted at the bottom). He's got one vine right now--I'm looking to get more within the next couple days. And I need a new UV light, but I'm planning on taking him outside a ton because he's so friendly and doesn't run from me like Ender does right now haha.

We'll see how taking care of two of these little guys goes, then we'll go for the female and I'll start breeding a while after that. Maybe in the next year or two I'll have some cute little baby chameleon pics for you guys :D But for now, I present to you: Spiderman (AKA Peter)!!!

He looks good, to have been kept by someone who didn't even know his sex. If you get him outside like planned, I bet his colors (yellow) will really shine in a week or two. Nice find.

Congrats on your new addition! He looks great.

Yeah, thanks :D

I'm working on getting him to try other things... it's not very difficult. He only ever had superworms and maybe some crickets from the pet store before he was bought by these other people.

So far he's had 2 dubia's, a locust, a few superworms, a waxworm and tons of crickets. I'm getting some blue bottle flies in the mail pretty soon (hopefully before the weekend!! Fingers crossed). I think he'll go nuts for those.

I'm gonna be getting some silkies and hornworms in again soon and he'll go crazy for those :)
