Hi,
I am struggling to find information. At what point does the chameleon become gravid? Would she carry eggs before and then the male fertilize them or would they have to mate before any eggs are produced?
Thanks
Females will produce eggs whether or not they have been fertilised. This cycle will begin once she reaches sexual maturity.
EDIT: What species are you interested in? ChameleonInMyHouse made a good Veiled care sheet. Part 2 contains some good info on this.

You want to mate before any eggs are produced. I don't think the female would mate if she already had eggs
