Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Jackson, Male, about 4-5 months, 3 Days

Handling - I've handled him once when I was setting up his new reptibreeze play pin yesterday.

Feeding - Gutloaded crickets I purchased from a reptile store(some of these guys are like bionic). 4-5 crickets and a few live mealworms in his bowl. Once every morning at 8:30am when he wakes up. I put all my crickets in a 5 gallon bucket with some egg carton bottoms and a plate with some Fluker's Orange Cubes.

Supplements - Fluker's Calcium with Vitamin D3(phosphorous free), Rep Cal Herptivite with beta carotene Multivitamins, I was hoping maybe I could get some input on how I should schedule his vitamins.

Watering - About 4-6 times a day, for about 15 seconds enough to soak his leaves, I saw him drinking in his first habitat the 18x18x24 glass terrarium and once in his new screen habitat but I'm thinking its because its new?

Fecal Description - Poop color brown. white eurate very little orange in the tip. No I haven't taken him to the vet for I am letting him adapt to his new environment.

History - I got him at petsmart.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - 16X16X20 ReptiBreeze Screen Habitat.

Lighting - Repti Glo 26w 5.0, compact , and a 75w basking light that is about 6 inches away from the habitat. 8:30am-8-30pm

Temperature - Day Temp: 70F at the bottom, 80F at the highest next to the basking light. Night Temp: 65F bottom 72F Top. One Thermometer at the top next to the basking light. and another at the bottom that i rest just outside the screen.

Humidity - 70% to 75% at times. I mist the cage and make sure the leaves are covered with droplets to help with humidity. I also have a ReptiFogger I use for about 10 mins every 2 or 3 hours to also maintain humidity. Hydrometer Exo-Terra

Plants - So far only 2 bushes of fake leaves and a crazy plastic vine stick thing he like to walk on

Placement - In my bedroom corner near a window but not in any direct view or light from the window. I have a fan in the room that I run at night on the opposite side of the room which is mounted to my wall and pointed towards the top of my window and it cannot at all directly blow on him. he's about 20 inches from the floor on a wooden desk.

Location - I usually am out or downstairs eating or watching tv I have a tv in my room but I keep the volume pretty low and especially when he sleeps.

Current Problem - He has been closing his right eye recently. It used to be when he was basking but now he tends to do it more frequently and will walk around with his eye closed. It isn't puffy, if anything sunken(sinks more when he blinks), I called my local reptile store and he said to wait a day for he might have poked his eye and if the problem doesn't get any better to get him some terramycin from a local vet to rub into his eye.

Hello. Welcome. I hope I can help you out with these suggestions (in red)-

Better gutload is recomended. Fresh veggies do the trick. Also, look for Sandrachameleon's blog. It is very useful.

Supplements - Fluker's Calcium with Vitamin D3(phosphorous free), Rep Cal Herptivite with beta carotene Multivitamins, I was hoping maybe I could get some input on how I should schedule his vitamins. You should be using PLAIN calcium with NO d3 twice a week (that's what I do). The other 2 should be used once every 6 weeks

Watering - About 4-6 times a day, for about 15 seconds enough to soak his leaves, I saw him drinking in his first habitat the 18x18x24 glass terrarium and once in his new screen habitat but I'm thinking its because its new? I would soak his enclosure for more time. Also, a dripper is a good utensil to have. Can be as simple as a plastic cup with a hole on the bottom with a pushpin.

Fecal Description - Poop color brown. white eurate very little orange in the tip. No I haven't taken him to the vet for I am letting him adapt to his new environment. If the urate is mostly white, he'll be fine, but orange is sign of dehydration

History - I got him at petsmart. Not the forums' favorite place  You're gonna hear a few horror stories from here
Cage Info:
Cage Type - 16X16X20 ReptiBreeze Screen Habitat. He looks like a big boy. Bigger cage is recommended. I have a pretty big cage for my boy, whom is younger than yours.

Are the thermometers digital or no? Sometimes, the other kind is not as accurate. Also, he would do fine with maybe 3 or 4 degrees more in the basking spot imo.

Humidity - 70% to 75% at times. I mist the cage and make sure the leaves are covered with droplets to help with humidity. I also have a ReptiFogger I use for about 10 mins every 2 or 3 hours to also maintain humidity. Hydrometer Exo-Terra

Plants - So far only 2 bushes of fake leaves and a crazy plastic vine stick thing he like to walk on Live plants are recommended too :)

A relatively warm shower to them usually does the trick. Warm as in doesnt feel hot to you. Remember they're cold blooded(Pictures) Taken TODAY 5/27/2012

Also, the mulch substrate does not look like a good idea. They can choke on pieces like that.
I hope I helped a little :)

Did not look at him so close. I cant really see his actual size... Could you put your hand next to him, or take a pic with him on your hand?
Anyhow, he still looks like he needs a bigger cage, imo :)

Thank you for the suggestions I REALLY appreciate your input.

The water drop cup system he's lovvin it. I'll post some pics of him drinking!

Also this is temporary for him just for a month or two till I get enough for a bigger habitat.

Can a moderator delete this thread so I can post more pictures?

and i'd like to start a more updated thread in a diff category

Thank You for your help! :)

I can't imagine where you'd start this that would be better than the Help section.

While I don't think this is the issue (as you've only just gotten this chameleon) you need another bulb for UVB that bulb has very low UVB and is recommended for use in conjunction with a UVB bulb.

http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/compact_fluorescent_bulbs.php

The Exo Terra Repti Glo 2.0 is a general light source with a high visual light output and a very high colour rendering index (CRI), but a lower UVB radiation. This bulb is suitable for snakes, all amphibians (frogs, toads and salamanders) and nocturnal animals. Plants will thrive under this light as well. It is also a perfect complementary light to a UVB bulb to boost visual light.

I put all my crickets in a 5 gallon bucket with some egg carton bottoms and a plate with some Fluker's Orange Cubes. Be sure to gutload with fresh veggies and fruit. I dont feed mine crickets, but I do gutload the dubia roaches with fresh fruits sprinkled with repashy gutload powder. Also mine loves hornworms and silk worms. Hornworms are great to help with hydration as well

Supplements - Fluker's Calcium with Vitamin D3(phosphorous free), Rep Cal Herptivite with beta carotene Multivitamins, I was hoping maybe I could get some input on how I should schedule his vitamins. I dust with calcium NO D twice a week and use the calcium w D3 once a month and a multivitamin once a month

These guys need high humidity and are stubborn when it comes to drinking. I have a mistking that goes off 4 times a day for 5 minutes as well as a dripper that drips down a plant all day.

As you already know he needs a bigger cage and do take out all of that substrate. bare bottom is best.

Lighting - Repti Glo 26w 5.0, compact , and a 75w basking light that is about 6 inches away from the habitat. 8:30am-8-30pm Need to be sure your bulb gives off enough UVB, I use a tube that goes across the whole cage. You only need a regular house bulb for basking. They dont like to get too hot.

Temperature - Day Temp: 70F at the bottom, 80F at the highest next to the basking light. Night Temp: 65F bottom 72F Top. One Thermometer at the top next to the basking light. and another at the bottom that i rest just outside the screen. These temps look pretty good.

Humidity - 70% to 75% at times. I mist the cage and make sure the leaves are covered with droplets to help with humidity. I also have a ReptiFogger I use for about 10 mins every 2 or 3 hours to also maintain humidity. Hydrometer Exo-Terra

Plants - So far only 2 bushes of fake leaves and a crazy plastic vine stick thing he like to walk on Live plants will help with the humidity and they seem to enjoy them more than fake ones.
