New Jack's Cham Owner

I got my little man (6 months) in the mail Tuesday night. He immediately ate one cricket. I want to say he's about 5-6 in long. We are building him a beautiful screen terrarium with natural plants as I work at a plant nursery. Right now he's in a 12x12x12 screen top plastic terrarium until tomorrow. I mist the cage twice a day, and left two crickets in the cage plus a dish of water in the cage since Tuesday. He hasn't eaten since that one cricket, and when I come home from work his eyes are closed and he's usually under the heat lamp. I have a humidity and temperature gauge in his cage ( humidity around 70-80 and temperature around 75)....Why are his eyes closed during the day, and why isn't he eating? I have found one dropping with the 'white thing' on it, which I researched was good.....He will be in his new habitat by Saturday. Am I worrying too much??

Have you read the Jackson's care sheet? https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/jacksons/
Recommended Temperatures
Baby/juvenile (<9 months): 70-75F (21-23C) ambient, 75-80F (23-26C) basking
Adult: 70-80F (21-26C) ambient, 82-85F (29C) basking
He will need a basking spot where he can sit at that is closer to 80˚F You will also want to mist him more often at least 4 times per day.
Eliminate the water dish chameleons don't generally drink standing water and it tends to become a source of bacteria. They will drink the "rain" that falls and collects as droplets on leaves.
Sleeping during the day is an indication of a problem. It isn't unusual for them to not eat for a day or two when they first arrive especially if they may have been wild caught.
Hopefully you've already given him a variety of hiding places in his temporary cage that will make him more secure and help him settle in better.
If he doesn't improve in his new cage after following the caresheet instructions. You should fill out the how to ask for help form and members will help review your setup.
