its 30h 16 wide ive been nervous about putting live plants in mine because of the risk of washing the soil off what did you do to ur plant before you put it in there??
First I repotted them in organic potting soil with a layer of organic topsoil. Tip: cut out a piece of aluminum screen to fit in the bottom of the pot before putting in soil, this keeps any soil from falling out of the drainage holes. Then once repotted, I cut out a piece of fiberglass screen to cover the soil, and then put a layer of river stones over the screen. Make sure the stones are rounded and don't have sharp edges. The stones I used were called "egg rock" from the walmart garden section.
PS: Make sure there is no perlite in the soil, I have bought "100% Organic Soil" that contains it. Its the little white styrofoam balls they put in it.
How does the plant get water?
It gets some water from the misting system but I also spray a little water through the rocks from my pump sprayer every couple days. The rocks and screen do not impede water getting into the soil though. Here are some examples of my method.

As for bamboo, I believe most types are safe, however the structure of bamboo is not good for climbing on, the stalks can also be slick and hard to grip.
Tjey all look great you did a good job
Thanks, now I strongly suggest you get some live foliage in there for your little guy. Be sure to post pics as soon as you get him!

why no perlite?
If ingested by small chams, it can cause an impaction, more so than just soil.
