I need to transfer my chameleon to a different house. Good thing is it is 10 minutes away, but how do I do this? My chameleon hates being handled and will only come to me w food lol. Any tips are appreciated thank you.

use food to lure him out. Get him into a box with a stick that is placed through it for support. Then close up the box. He may fall asleep for the 10 minute trip. Open the box on the other side and let him wake up and then put it up to the enclosure and he should go in.

Is it okay to use a cardboard box so that it is dark?

Yes, a cardboard box is fine.
