New Gracilior Male!

Here is my new male, right out of his shipping box and not very happy with life at the moment. He was imported a year ago but sold as a quad quad. The breeder who received him suspected gracilior, but held onto him until his yellow cheeks, horns and red nails left no doubt about it. Thank you Bill! He will be a very valued member of my gracilior group. It is very sad to still see all the marks and bumps from his ordeal of capture and export. Look at his poor little tail--something took a chunk out of his tail at the end of his sail fin.

Congratulations Janet! Nice looking male! My females from the same import still have scars on them even though both have shed several times. This demonstrates the advantages of being able to walk into the importers building and hand pick the animals you want or the importer selecting the animals and shipping them to you.

My hand-picked ones are pretty beaten up, too! The whole shipment were all badly beaten up.

Here's a picture of him before I bought him when he wasn't so upset with life. He looks like he is getting his third set of horns.

He's a good looking boy, Bill does a good job.
Here's a pic of a quad I got back in the mid 90s, maybe be a gracilior, we didn't know there were 2 species back then. I called him Mister Mustard because he was so yellow.

Notice the quality of the pic, before digital cameras and computers. I had to take a picture of my photograph.
