So I have about 35 eggs incubating and starting to see really big veins. I'm very excited.

Any idea on how much food I should prepare before they hatch?
Should I start breeding? If so, when should I start breeding the fruit flys?
Any tips would be great. First time :)

When were they laid?

I would get as much food going as you can.

I have 6 cultures of ff going now, and i need more.

i also need to start more crickets breeding.

They were laid in august

I do not want to start breeding the fruit flys until like a week or two before I need them. I don't want them dying off.

unfortunately, its not possible to predict exactly when the eggs will hatch. But if I were you, I'd start preparing fruit fly cultures now, along with bean beetles, mealworms (for the baby sized worms). You can start crickets the moment the eggs begin to sweat so you can add the pinheads to the diet some weeks in. And you can hatch silkworms when the eggs sweat or when baby chams hatch

Personally, I would start ff cultures in march/April... Your eggs are only five months in. They can take 7-9, though mine too a full 9.

I have an August clutch as well. I just ordered my my supplies for FF culteres and am going to start as soon as they get here. I wanted to start early to make sure I can actually keep starting new cultures. Its going to get real expensive if I cant produce feeders :)

I think I'm going to try silks and look into the bean beetles also.

Good luck with the babies, hope they get here sooner than later!
