New Charges

Many of you may remember that Nick (Topknot) offered his breeding pair of veileds recently for free .. he has a new job and is exiting the hobby.
Theresa took Oggie and Green Bean.
Nick also had some eggs of theirs that he offered to me.
I agreed to take them and Nick delivered them today ...... one was actually a little girl neonate ... she probably hatched out on Wednesday (?) not exactly sure.
Anywho ... The parents are splendid examples, and I am looking forward to raising these babies. Oggie (the sire) is the white veiled and Green Bean is a beautiful grandchild of the Kammer's Azog.
No pictures yet, but I will try tomorrow ... no guarantees, she's really tiny and I don't have much of a camera.
Here are links to pictures of the parents:

Okay ... I was finally able to get a couple of pictures of this little hatchling in focus.
Here she is.
I have not seen her eat yet but she is very alert and active.
Note the thermometer probe for size comparison.

Very cool! Do you plan on raising these babies for a bit to see if any share the pastel trait of the father?? I would love for you to keep us posted on this if you are planning to hold back some for that reason :)

And to think I hadn't known "cham up the nose" was the hot new trend!

Ha!
I told Trace last night that she was so small I could snort her:rolleyes:
Without a picture (and late at night) this is how I could best describe her size.
Just for clarification, I do not have a habit of "snorting" anything ... it was late;)

I have not made any decisions about them yet.
Oggie is pretty cool.

Wow Brad, didn't know you were into that kind of stuff. :p

I love baby chameleons! Aww :D

I keep coming back for the pictures. :p

This just in, Paris Hilton was caught sniffing chameleons when a tail suddenly fell out of her nostril.

This is so not the direction I wanted this thread to go:)

Sorry Brad, that would be my fault! By no means was it my intention to imply there was some 'snorting' problems on your end. Nor did I want your thread to take a different direction. Just using the nasal cavity to describe the size of a baby chameleon is the funniest thing at 3am! :D

Now back to the thread at hand. Have fun with the little ones. Have any of the other eggs started hatching yet?

Cheers,
t

Oh yeah, I got stump-tail fever too! When are those little darlings arriving anyway?

Do you know if either of Oggies parents were showing the white/pastel look? I probably should be asking this to the original owner. lol!

Trace:
No worries;) None of the others have started to hatch yet. They sure are huge and green though! These eggs are 248 days old today.

Skeeta:
No word on shipment of the other chameleons that are coming. We are waiting on imports. My translucent male will be in that shipment as well.

Dondeb562:
Oggie was purchased off of Kingsnake and was from a "red" bloodline, according to the seller.

Is every two hours too often to check eggs? Ha!
