New chameleons in my store

As some of you have read before, I work at a Petco in va. We just got 2 new panther juveniles in. One is doing great but the other is a bit upset with the move. It’s been less than a week though and he’s eating a lot so hopefully he will chill. I gave him as much coverage as I could!

I wanted to post their pictures so I can accurately say what they are to some reptile experienced guests who could be interested in the future.

Here they are! I think they are both boys as they are already very colorful. One reminds me of a Nosy Be.

I have to think up appropriate names as well. ❤️

Yeah our panthers come in usually okay. Vista pet supply is one of the better vendors in terms of mass-production vendors anyway. Most of their animals that come to my store are usually fat and bigger in size.

Also I love that name idea..I really wanna take home that first more-blue one. He’s super cute when he does his “I’m scared t-Rex” pose.

Interesting, I've only ever seen veiled's at the petcos/petsmarts I've been to in NJ. I thought the reasoning was the market price of panthers was too high for the average petco customer. What do you guys charge for panthers?

The chams at the big chain pet stores (and even some of the exotics ones) near me are never cared for properly, have MBD, are always sick, and die constantly. When I point it out, the employees are supposed to take them to the vet but they just poke the chams and tell me they’re fine!

Yeah, I felt bad for the veiled currently at my local petsmart. Does not appear to be a mister, no uvb, no water source other than a bowl, and of course in glass.

The panthers are $149.99. My store/coworkers are very protective of all our babies so my habitats were approved to be smothered in hideaway leaves/branches/etc for them. They are doing great so far and the smaller one tends to like coming out but quickly goes back in (when held we don’t restrain them at all and always give them the option to go home whenever they desire.)
Right now until they have tolerance I refuse to let customers hold them. I will happily hold and display them but quickly put them back home the moment they start showing panic/distress/uncomfortableness.

They are such sweetie pies. I’ve been handfeeding when possible to get them used to hands.

The panthers in the Petco near me are $200-250
