Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, Female?, age ??. 4 days
How long is she, from nose to tip of tail, we can guess age from that
Handling - We were recommended not to handle her because she will get stressed out.
Feeding - 10-12 crickets a day in the morning
How are you gut-loading your feeders? I don't know what that is??
Gutload, what you feed the crickets to keep them alive, such as greens, carrots, potatoes, oranges, etc
Supplements - Zoo Med's Repti-vite 2x a week
this is a multivitamin, should onlly do 2 x a month. you need plain calcium with no d3 and no phosporus for every feeding, and you need calcium with d3 2x a month
Watering - Sprayer, 3x a day, and yes we have seen her drink or suck on the tree leaf
Fecal Description - We have not seen her dropping and she has not been tested either?
WHen you find her poops, they should have a solid looking brown part, and white part, called the urate attached to it, this is the pee, if it is white they are hydrated, if yellow or orange, is dehydrated, can also tell by th eyes.
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. NONE
Cage Info:Cage Type - 24*24*21 screen all around with fake trees and limbs
Lighting - one infrared bulb, on all day (not anymore) and a white bulb on 12 hours
already made this suggestion
Temperature - a thermometer and it ranger from 80-90 degrees during the day
if she is still young, they like sligthly cooler temps, like 80-85 during the day
Humidity - the humidity marks as tropical, and we are constantly spraying when we are home, but very rare during the weekdays. we are buying a mister for that same reason tomorrow.
How do we control the mist at night with the mist king? Does it come wotha speacial timer? it should
Plants - NOPE,
Real plants keep your humidity up, and some chams like to munch them, scheffelera and pothos are cham munchie safe
Placement - NO vents and it is in a corner of my dining room, not too much traffic.
Location - Miami, Florida
We just want to know the basics on how to take care of our cham. We have never had a cham before and are concerned because we read different things in different websites.
Thank you for all your help.
