I'm a new chameleon owner and I just wanted some advise on my cage set up. I built this cage myself after doing quite a bit of research and wanted some input from people who have had chameleons and know what they are doing for sure. The cage is 20" x 20" x 4'. I've had my chameleon for a little over a week now, he's a male graceful chameleon and he seems to be doing very well, as far as I can tell. He is very active and eats plenty of crickets. I'm not exactly sure how old he is, all I know is that one of the people at Petland said that they had had him for two months. He is between five and six inches long not counting his tail if that tells anyone anything. I have one live ivy house plant in his cage right now for some greenery, and to try and keep the humidity up in the acceptable range. I have a 100W ExoTerra bulb for his basking light, this keeps the temp around 85F, and a Zilla fluorescent UVB strip light, I also have the little dripper system set up that runs all day. I also mist thoroughly three times a day. Another question I had was the guy at the pet store said that all I really needed as far as calcium supplement is the kind from ExoTerra that you put in his drinking water, is that true or do I also need to dust his crickets too. Sorry this message was so long winded, but I've done a lot of research and still have questions. Any advise would be helpful!! Oh and I'm new to this whole blogging thing so I hope I attached the pics correctly. Thanx much!!!
