New chameleon not moving

I just bought a veiled chameleon about 3 days ago since i have gotten him I have noticed he has not moved from the same perch since i have had him. Is this normal for a new chameleon? I have plenty of vegetation and other hiding spots but he doesn't seem to move. He seems perfectly healthy and is showing no signs of illness.

what i meant by he doesn't move is that he stays in a very small area of the cage. Yes he does move but when he does it is no more than a few inches away. He is basking and has been defecating normally. He has been eating for the last 2 days, although i have not seen him eat today. He is hydrated. The only problem is that he is very, very inactive. He did eat the first day but I have now had crickets in the feeding cup since yesterday and he doesn't seem interested in them at all.

Hey Gumnut,

Could you please provide some photos of your enclosure? It's quite possible that your cham may not like the current setup. Also, some pictures of your cham would also help. I've attached the "how to ask for help" link at the bottom. Be as descriptive as possible when filling it out. It'll help us better understand what is going on with your cham.

He is a 5-6 month old veiled chameleon. I haven't handled him yet because he is still new. I have him in a 18x20x36 mesh cage and mist him 2-3 times a day. He also has a dipper as well as a fogger. Hes droppings look moist yet solid and have white urate. They are also about 1/2 to 3/4 inches long. I have been using crickets dusted in calcium. I have him in with a ficus, some leafy vines as well as regular vines and lots of branches covered in leaves. about 1/4 of his cage is densely vegetated and the rest is moderately vegetated. I will be adding plants to the cage over the next few days.
My main concern is his inactivity or rather skidish behavior.
Unfortunately at this time i am unable to provide an image

Hi, have you actually seen him drinking after you mist?
