If you use a buck knife to debark it will leave texter , It is said its ok to leave bark on but I worry about might . I have had beardies that have been cut , but not Frances .
New Cham owner, having a hard time hydrating.

Everything I have read says bark is a sure death sentence but alot of ppl don't shave there sticks I personally do I figure if he shoots a feeder to hard and gets a chunk of bark stuck in his tongue it would probably do him in but nice schefflera arboricola my favorite plant

Hey everyone, had a question about sperm plugs. Two days ago, after Edward G finished a shed, I noticed a very very small clear piece of tissue sticking about a 1/4mm out of his rectum. I got scared and thought it was a prolapse, so I sent pictures and contacted my aunt who is a reptile vet and keeper at the Dallas aquarium. She said it is not a prolapse, most likely it is the tip of a sperm plug which is trying to be expelled. Has anyone dealt with this before? Edward G pooped yesterday along with some urate, and it seems like the plug moved out about another 1/4mm. Would like to hear some input, and I will take him to a local reptile vet if the plug doesnt come out in the next few days.

Updated Edward G's enclosure with a live wall. I re-used the golden pothos and guided it along a manzanita branch. I also put in a Bromeliad, Jade plant, and an orchid which he has taken two bites off and seems to me it's turning into an expensive snack.
I also put in some Tilandsias mounted on cork bark. Just going to add a few more to that last bare piece of bark, and it's done.

Edward is gorgeous !!. How is the orchid doing in the enclosure ?

Thanks! He's great, getting big fast!! The orchids lasted a few weeks, he LOVES chomping on them. The only bad part is once he got down to the stems, he kept eating! I removed them for now until I make sure he is not gonna have problems passing the stems he ate.
He hasn't shown any signs of illness, other than he doesn't eat his regular 6-8 crix a day. He only does around 4 a day. Not sure if that is because he turned 1 year old in December, and his metabolysm is slowing? He still poops almost daily, and urate looks healthy.

I've heard they slow down eating at a Year . We are thinking of orchids in our new enclosure and thank you for the info .

Yea just monitor them once they get down to the last one or two orchids, because once the blooms are gone, the stems become the next tasty treat!
