So i am going to make a new cage for my chameleon. i am having trouble figuering out what the dimensions should be. i want the cage to last him as long as possible, as in i want him to be comfortable and fit there for a long time since they grow fast. the dimensions for one of the wood base i have is

Option #1
Length: 19in, Width: 15in

the other one is:

Option #2
Length: 26in, Width:12.5in

the height for both is going to be 28-29 in depending on which one i make...:]

i do not want it that high because it is already going to be on top of a book case which meassures 4 ft tall. :/

im thinking of going with option 2...:/ yay or nay?

reason is because i was going to buy one from Zilla and it was 14.5in x 14.5x21

How old is this cham? if he is younger, sounds just fine... I would do option #1.

If your cham is about 10 months old or older I would just get him a larger cage.... At least 24x24x as tall as you can make it. adults nee more space. having the narrower cage will help him find his food if he is younger.

right now he is 2 months. and the cage is 1.5 ft long and 1 foot wide. 2 ft tall

That is a good size for now. When he starts to get about 4 months he'll need the bigger cage... the one you plan to build. but he'll need even bigger after 10-12 months of age.

It will all depend on his size... if he doesn't grow real fast you can keep him in smaller cages.....

Just keep a steady food supply and supplements and good over all care.
