Hey everyone,

Rango’s new cage is finally done!! Here is its current setup. Keep in mind, I’m going to add/fix the following:

- Shower curtain (hold in humidity)
- Add stand on bottom
- Add tray on bottom to collect water
- Purchase chameleon-friendly (potted) plants to add on the bottom

Otherwise… here is the finished layout (heat lamp added after pics so it’s not in them of course)! Please let me know if you think anything needs changed. This is a 2x2x4, and I would love any feedback. :)

My best tip for the XL reptibreeze is that the top hook for the door is exactly 8". Keep all your basking sticks at this level and you're golden. So happy to see you're taking such good care of your little man! 🥰

Pothos are an excellent and hardy plant, you can usually find them in home depot, or Lowe's. 🙂

Yay! Rango must be so much happier now! 🤗 I know you just got it all together, but I still want to add some tips. If you are up for the extra work, you can easily add some garden trellis to the inside which you can hang branches, vines and even plants from. I find it easiest to do these things with the enclosures taken apart, but if you had some helping hands, you could do it with the enclosures taken apart assembled…just have to remove all inside.
The garden trellis is under $20 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Veranda...iamond-Vinyl-Lattice-Panel-73004010/100029078 and easy enough to cut. I used a jigsaw and then filed any sharp edges. I drilled tiny holes where needed and attached to the enclosures taken apart frame using thin wire. To prevent it from sliding down I wrapped some of the wire around screws - either the ones holding the enclosure together or I added some. Attach some vertical sturdy branches that you can then attach everything else to. It’s pretty easy, inexpensive and looks much nicer than I thought it would.
For plants, the double pot method is easiest, attach with zip ties and empty pot where you want your plant and then you can just slip a potted plant in. With our plant munching veileds, this just makes the most sense. I like having a tall plant at the center and then add smaller around it (usually pothos). I do have to caution about keeping the fake plants and moss. Those are a hazard if your guy decides to take a nibble. You can kind of see in my pic how I hang my fake plants on the outside of the enclosure, which gives a little extra privacy for my chams.
