& how well does that tray under the cage work? Do you have to lift up the cage constantly to dump the water?
& Very smart idea with the clips! I always see my chameleon climbing upside down close to the basking lamp and I get scared that she'll be burnt. I might just put your idea into action at my house![]()
Yep, they are from my poor abused little dogwood tree in my back yard.
It's called a dura tray, made for rabbit cages, oversized so there is a few
inches all around.
The cage has holes drilled into the floor, and is lifted off the tray with 4
plastic blocks (one at each corner) so the water will flow and not be traped
under the cage.
The dura tray has a drain hole in the back corner, a hose is attached and
goes into a bucket.
I place shims under the dura tray to guide the water to the drain hole.
This prevents water pooling, which can get nasty if allowed to sit very long.
