Hey, just curious if anyone has had any experiences with this. Has anyone owned a chameleon and brought a new born baby home? Do you keep the newborn far away from the cham cage?
Has anyone ever have a family member or themself get salmonella poisoning from a chameleon?
I brought twins home from the hospital, and my twins are big and healthy! I have over a dozen chameleons and no kid has ever been exposed or gotten salmonela. Just dont let the kids put the chameleon in their mouthes or eat their waste. Also, just make sure you wash your hands after handling the chameleons. You do not have to worry about it too much as long as you keep good hygiene. Good luck.
Thanks very much. I have other lizards but I thought I'd throw it out there. Anytime I do anything in any of the reptile tanks/cage or my fish tank, I always wash my hands. Same goes for my 4 year old.
