what is that best way to feed these little guys. i am very unprepared, i had no clue she was pregnant, i woke up and had babies, the males died along time ago so i just didnt think she was. if you guys could let me know the best way to feed them it would be a great help, ill take some pics of them also.

Yeah, get a ton of fruit flies ASAP!!! No need to worry about dusting their food at this moment. What are you housing them in? A piece of banana peel or other fruit will help keep the flies in a bin. Heidyi fruit flies seem to not be able to get out of screen cages. Get LOTS of cultures. If your babies are healthy they will destroy them.

imo, hydei fruitflies are the best feeder for the first 2 weeks, but you will probably have to get them mo because most pet stores that sell ff usually sell melongasters. so get probably 2 melongaster cultures from your local store and order some hydei asap. i would recomend 3 producing cultures, be sure you specify "producing cultures" cause hydei can take a month to produce, so just ordering, just started cultures wont do you any good. hydei are much larger and easier to deal with than melongasters. i have described an easy way to dispense a controlled amount of hydei in this thread post#9 https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-do-you-keep-fruit-flies-your-containers-42353/ you can use the same method for melongasters but they arent quite as co-operative as hydei. i would avoid any supplementation for the first month, by then they should be on to true 1/16-1/8" cricks by then it would probably be ok to let the cricks eat a small amount of total cereal, or maybe lightly dust their (the crickets) greens with stf vit-all, then back to plain greens for the cricks. like the earlier poster said, i would avoid any direct dusting of their feeders for at least the first 2 months. by month 2 you want to start mixing their feeders up if possible, freshly hatched chinese mantis, (you could probably have a hatch by then if you started now, the only place i know of to find mantis ooth this time of year would be the classifieds of mantidforum.net) or small hermetia illucens larvae, make good feeders by that stage, buy the second half of month 2 you can probably get them to eat small cultured house flies(available from mantisplace.com) they need lots of bamboo skewers and climbing material they some times get confused if they get caught in a corner with no climbing material, i usually use a 10 gal with 2 tiny plants and skewers to each corner as well as all over the tank. you need to maintain easy access to a high density of feeders. it can take them a while to learn that they can get feeders just out of their reach by walking over to them. the first 48hrs is pretty critical so if you havent already got some kind of ff, you need to get on that right away. i wouldnt worry about a dripper, but i would mist their foliage at least 5x a day (probably best not to spray them directly). to be safe, the max temp they should have access to is about 80*as measured by a digital therm with a remote sender, guessings not a good plan. jmo

ok cool thanks, yea they are doing really good actually. The temp gets 80 at the hottest,i mist them all throught the day. I bought all of the fruit flys from pet co, i am going to try putting them in the container with a banana. Yea i put a leaf with some pen head crickets in a small container and at fist they had no clue what to do, but they got a hang of it, i fed each alone they ate them all so i figure thats good. I put them in a 10 gal for now with alot of plants( fake for now) with paper towl at bottom, they walk all over the place seem very strong, funny watching them, i wish my female had more, she only had six, and only four lived. I had no clue she was pregnant, my male died awhile back and i came home and they where all standing upside down under the light, the others that died landed in the pan that catches the water from the dripper. Wish i new so i could have provent that. but thanks for the help ill keep everyone up dated and take some pics soon.
