New Baby Girl

So as some of you have already read my previous girl passed away due to issues beyond my control. I spoke to the herp again today and they were agreeing with the neurological issues. They said towards the end she was gripping her side with a back foot almost pinching herself, she was biting at everything, then the last day did not move much seemed stuck on the bottom her muscles were weak.

Anyways, today I went to pick up my new baby. They only had one (that is all they have at a time) and she was a beautiful baby girl.

I listened to a lot of the advice, pulled out all of the substrate, potted her Orchid that was in the tank and put it back in a lovely pot. I put her crickets in a bowl so I can monitor her eating and keep them from harassing her, and put a towel on the bottom for now (I know there are better bottoms out there but this is make shift).

temp is 78 - 82 throughout the set up, the basking spot is 85-90 and the cool spot is 75, at night the set up will drop between 72 - 74

Since I brought her home about three hours ago she has explored her entire setup at least twice. She loves climbing.... but... She is nameless!!!
My first was names Alejandra, I just love exotic names for an exotic baby!

That basking spot is too hot for a female and a baby. It should remain around 80-83 her whole life to prevent large clutches (which will shorten her life.)

I am not sure the said somewhere around two months but she is a veiled. They have had her for just about two weeks at most, and the usually get them around 4 -6 weeks old.

The white cup? Crickets so they can be watched and dont harass her.

One question, any other food suggestions I have meal and wax worms from my older girl but I was told she is too small for them so I am looking for other foods than small crickets.

Thanks

Yea, I actually turned the basking lamp off, all she has not is the uvb lamp sitting between 78- 82

Small cockroaches, small superworms, small mealworms, small stick bugs, small mantids, small silkworms, fruit flies, snails, small grasshoppers (non poisonous,) small months and butterflies (non poisonous) and house flies are all options. (flies should be bought, not caught)

Congrats!!! :D

I am glad to see that you got another Veiled Chameleon :D I am sure that you have all the right supplies and needs for it :) I used that same kit for my Darwin when I first got him at PetCo. He has to go in it when I clean the cage and he loved it :) the background is a nice feature too! :) be careful with the topper if you put an extra heat bulb there it melts the plastic part of the topper and the background too! D: (baaad experience!) lol. :) I am sure that she will be fine and healthy! :) The kits are great for the first few weeks of having them :) GOOD LUCK!

My issue is I have three pet stores here. One that sells 99% fish only, One that I am weary of because of housings and puppy mill dogs, and PetSmart. So far the best has been petsmart, but all they carry are different sized meal worms, crickets and wax worms, so I am in a bit of a bind, will the crickets be ok for now or should I order some sort of other feeder?
My crickets are gutloaded.

You can also order them online! :) I still need to find all the ones except pinheads, mealies, and supers ( My newest Cham. that I am getting tomorrow is going to have dubias, mealies, supers and crix and more he said she is 11 months old :))

Haha I wish some one told me about the melting two weeks ago, I partially melted the background on our FL trip because of the basking lamp, oh well!
I am actually considering updating the background to a natural wood/bark wall for the rest of her time in this cage, then possibly getting some pygmies later on for the cage. They are adorable.

I like the cage for now but I can not wait till we have the time to build hers, we checked out supplies today :)

With flies, will she catch them in mid air? How does that work?

This is what my babies looked like at 2 months old. I have pictures on here of them at all ages if you'd like to use them as a comparison. At two month my babies were eating 1/4" crickets, baby dubia and house flies.

They are adorable. So from my pictures I think my baby may be some where between 6-8 weeks old. She looks smaller than yours and her veil is so tiny right now... Do you agree?
