New Arrival!!

I just got my third chameleon (first panther) today. :) He is a 5 month old ambilobe from Lance Lindgren. One of the pictures is the one Lance posted in his ad (the one that made me fall in love with my new little man), three are pictures I took this morning immediately after unboxing him, and one is of his free range setup. Feel free to critique the setup, as it is my first attempt at a free range. I will be adding a hanging pothos and some more vines to the top soon. His basking spot is about 9-10 inches below the UVB light - that's close enough, right?

One more thing - for anyone considering purchasing a young ambilobe, Lance (Lancecham) is fantastic. He texted me this morning to make sure my cham arrived safely, and he made it clear that he will always be available if I have any questions or concerns. I highly recommend him as a breeder. :)

He's very handsome! Haha, when he was in the bag he was looking up at you like "DONT. KILL. ME."

Haha yes, he was. And thank you. :)

Question for anybody who free ranges: I have heard that he is likely to wander around the room for the first few days he free ranges. Should I just leave him alone and let him do his thing? I'm a little worried because he hasn't eaten anything today and he won't stay under his UVB light, so I'm tempted to keep picking him up and putting him back on his tree, but I guess I should just let him explore, right? Will he eventually come back to his spot where the heat and food are?

i don't have a ton of knowledge as I have my first one now and it has only been a few months. But Lenny went ALL over the room and inspected everything. I had a sick dragon here at the time and I found Lenny happily sitting on top the dragon's cage checking him out. I move some plants around a couple weeks ago and once again Lenny walked all the way across the floor and checked them out. I would make sure the entire room is safe for your guy. Your cham is beautiful. Lance is a great guy to do business with, he is pretty nice as a friend also.

Thank you. I made sure the room was safe for him when I was setting up his free range the past few days. It's actually a large walk-in closet that I have pretty much dedicated to him. There's not much in there except empty shelves that he is currently climbing all over and a few closed boxes.

He is on a mission to explore the realm beyond his free range. :)
