New accomplishment with Benji!

I’m really happy and I figured I’d share it with you guys! Today, when I fed Benji, instead of running away and getting scared, he puffed up stood his ground and hissed at me. He ate his food right away instead of eyeing me and waiting for me to leave! I think this is a step in the right direction.

I haven’t got my T5HO yet, I’m planning on ordering it today. Is it bad to have it pushed back? He usually hangs around back there, but with his new found confidence, he has been finding new spots

The UVB should run either diagonally or across the middle of the enclosure to push the light into the most places it can reach. You really need to get the T5HO ordered with the 5.0 bulb. Compacts are not helpful and MBD can develop within a few weeks.

I have a T8 that I had before I knew that the T5 are way better. I’ll move my bulb for now and get my T5HO ordered

Will he be okay for the time being? Ok that the T8 aren’t good and are only effective for a few inches, that’s why I have it positioned in the back atm, he likes to hang out back there and that’s one of the only other spot in the enclosure That gets that high. I don’t mean long term, just for the time until I get my T5HO.

Is he hanging out back there because that is where the UVB is though? It is up to you on waiting but I would order the T5HO. His back would need to be 2-3 inches away from the bulb to get the right level of uvb for a 3 UVI. Leaves very little room.

Yeah, I’m trying to order as soon as I can, I’m not planning on waiting, I was just wondering if he would be okay until the fixture is delivered.

Honestly it depends on how long. T8 is better then a compact though.
