panther67 Established Member May 29, 2011 #3 Are you going to use the repti sun 5.0? If so I do not believe you need to space it from the top of cage. The rays only penetrate 12"-14" inches.

E Elizadolots New Member May 30, 2011 #4 I guess it depends on the housing. If the bulb would be touching the mesh, then yes, you will want to raise it up. I think repsol's solution is good.
