So, I've had my Nosy Faly PC for about 10 months now, and he is about 13~ months old.

I can't for the life of me get him to climb out onto my hand, or get him out of the cage. I don't look at it as being a big deal as most chameleons don't like to be handled anyways.

The only way I have been successful at getting him out of the cage is by spraying water in his direction until he comes to the top of the cage and attempts to climb out, then he will easily climb on my hand.

BUT, if I even dare to stick my hand in slowly near him into his cage, he flares and attempts to bite!

I've hand fed him numerous times (horn worms) and once I get him out of his cage, he's ok to climb on my arms and such, but still VERY precautious of everything around him.

Any tips I can use to just easily grab him out when needed?

You can use a stick/branch and get him to climb on it to take him out, then let him walk on you when he has no choice lol.

Extracting a cham with your hand that is running away from you is kind of an art form you have to master :D

The first thing is to never try to force him. He may see you spraying him as a threat since you do it to get him out. Give in and get a fairly soft pair of leather gloves. Not something as thin as driving gloves, more like garden weight. When he try's to bite you, let him do it. After a few attempts he will figure out biting you isn't working. Then with. Your gloves on, try to put your hand in front and sort of under him. When he is to the point of putting his front 2 hands on your hand, gently start trying to lift him up. When you finally get him out make it special for him. His favorite treat, going outside, free range in the house on a plant, whatever you can think of that will make coming out with you a good thing. After a few times of this take off one glove while he is out, then in a few minutes take off the other glove. The next. Couple times still have the glove on until he is very comfortable coming out. Next you take the glove off and do everything the same as always, just with no glove. He may threaten, or puff up but just be slow, let him see a treat or something he wants outside, and he will almost always allow you to take him out. Just be ready as this will most likely take 2 or 3 weeks.
