Need Help

Well, my chameleon looked fine yesterday, I just got home this morning and my mom had turned his lights on + misted him. I'm sitting at the computer and all of the sudden I hear a thud, apparently he fell. I look over and he's struggling to get up, and his sides are almost completely black around his belly. It appears he has passed away now, does anyone know what could have happened? A parasite or something?

we need more info,

Don't know if that's a possibility unfortunately. Only vet is a half hour away and I have no way of getting there right now.

Any updates? Unfortunately a vet is most likely necessary. If it were me, I would do everything in my power to get him the medical help he needs. Sounds like a serious internal injury.

Unfortunately, chameleons do drop dead for mysterious reasons, and the fall may have just been him in the process of dying, not the cause of death. Please fill out the form someone else posted and hopefully we can shine some light on what may have happened but a necropsy would be your best shot at finding the definitive answer if you can afford it.

Typically, by the time chameleons have patches of black and normal coloration they are usually beyond help, unfortunately.

Hey sorry guys, forgot to update after this. He didn't make it, not sure what happened. Very unforunate, but I'm happy that my gecko is still striving and I think I'll take a break from chameleons for now and maybe try to get into bearded dragons or a snake. Thanks for your concern and help!
