I found out that my 2 month old male baby chameleon has a little cut on his front foot will it ever heal? How do I keep it from damaging his pretty skin?

No it's kinda black it looks dirty I cleaned it but it's like black a scab or something. He's in the ending process of shedding as well. Around his foot it won't change colour. It just has that dirty tint to it.

are you sure its a cut, as it could be from him tearing his shed off and making the coloration of a line black, its why you don't help them pull their shed off. it one time when my chameleon lunged while i was holding part of his shed it pulled his skin up and ripped the shed then as soon as it was off their was a black line that was there for awhile it eventually just vanished.

Have you misted the area lots to see if you can get the dirty area clean? If your Cham has shed making a circle around his foot it can cut off the blood flow. So watch out carefully to see that he is doing ok. If you get it cleaned up you can see more about the cut.

I purchased him when he was in his shedding stage. I can't post a pic due to my iPhone use. And I do not pull his shedding off. I most him a lot. I will tommorow when I come home from work will try and get it off. Unless he burned his foot before I purchased him. His claws aren't coming off and he walks with no problem. I think maybe he will grow out of it hopefully.

This is what I'm worried about...if a piece of shed gets stuck for some reason it can constrict down and they can lose toes or even a whole foot if the blood flow gets cut off.
