Hi, i have a female veiled chameleon. This morning i got up and figured out that my chameleon had a broken leg. Its probably from all the digging she has done since she is egg bounded(i think). So i'm try to take her to the vet. My question is what will the vet do? Will they put a cast for her? Can she fully restore her leg back? How much will the treatment cost? I would like to get help as soon as possible plz.:(

Her leg shouldn't be broken from digging unless she has other issue's. Anyway you could posts some pics of her?

Today i wen to the vet. And somehow both her of her legs broke :(. It turned out i didn't give her enough calcium in her diet. They said she has eggs and that eggs drained the calcium out of her bones make it weak. The only thing they could do is just inject calcium in her. They said putting a cast on the weak bones can even worsen the problem. :( For now they said i had to wait until her bones r stronger. Right now my chameleon is asleep and i didn't want to disturb her so i didn't take any yet pictures sorry.

James what vet did you take her to? Are you aware of Dr Maas up in Bothell, he is a renowned reptile specialist.

Hope she gets better. I had a female veiled for a while but rehomed her, I was so concerned about the egg laying and calcium business it drove me crazy. I have males now and worry a bit less.
