Need help immediately

Isn't Metacam (as recommended earlier in this thread) an NSAID medication?

Indeed it is! But it is specifically forumated for animals. It does still have risk of side effects, as most medications do, but it is safe for animals (with exceptions in cats). Human NSAIDs = bad.

Like deca said, some medications are the same in dogs and people. And some are not. Certain ones still have to monitored very closely for side effects even though they are used in both. But Advil and most other NSAIDs (which is why I specified human NSAIDs, not all human drugs) are very dangerous due to differences in how the liver metabolizes the drugs and the kidneys are extremely sensitive to them. Benedryl is very commonly used in dogs.

Oh okay. That makes sense.

I woke up this morning and Picasso popped into my mind. Just wanted to let you know that you and Picasso are in my thoughts :)

So sorry to here about picasso :( poor little guy

I hope the pain is at least better now. I'm sure it will take time for the
swelling to go down and he may not be able to eat anything for days!!

You may have to dropper feed him bug "milkshakes"

I thought about him all night - poor thing - how is he today - and you don't be so hard on yourself, you give him GREAT care, this is an ACCIDENT
stay strong

Picasso touched his tongue on the heat bulb and now the tip is so swollen that he just keeps dropping it out of his mouth and the tip is very large, he is doing some panicking and I'm scared he may be choking, is there anything I can do?

Would you care to show us some pictures of how you place your equipments? That may make someone give you some advice, and you and some other people can avoid this in the future.:)

the chameleon in question was being free ranged at the time. it was a freak accident and the chameleon was seen by a vet and is well cared for by a loving and responsible owner.

I too am watching for an update on Picasso! Has anyone talked to, or heard from the OP? Sure hope they are coping well enough and have been to see the vet for a resolution to this problem! :(
