Well....I don't think it's unusual for a major addition to the cage to cause the chameleon to freak out a bit. They are sort of creatures of habit.

Can you take pictures of her? If she's holding herself low, there's a chance she does have a problem.

And, please don't take this badly, but it would help if you broke your posts up into sentences and paragraphs. Some of us are older (I'm 53) with old eyes and that long stream of words is difficult to make out. Believe it or not, you'll have the same experience when you get old.

She is pretty low it just looks like when ever I look at her she has really wired way of laying and it looks uncomfable my bf thinks she's fine but i feel like there's some thing wrong and I really wish I could put pics on there but I can't my Internet isn't working and in on here using my phone it's really hard to type on here with this sry

If I PM you my cell phone number, could you send me pics? I could them upload them and post them for you. I do think pictures would be very helpful because sometimes the way they hold themselves is a clue. However, I do think you are being a very protective MOM and possibly overthinking things....I'm not criticizing that because it means you care and you are not jaded, I think we've all been there.

Meanwhile...if you can just space things out between thoughts a bit it would help. You're actually doing pretty well because you are capitalizing! That's a huge improvement over some "phone posts" I've seen.

Young people.....

Please edit out your personal information. You have no idea who might be around here.

I sent you my phone number via PM on this board. I'll send you my e-mail address as well. If you can send them to my e-mail that would save me money.

Here are the first 5 pictures lilstar sent me:

I'm a little concerned because it looks to me as though she is grabbing her own limbs. Historically on this board that has been an early indicator for MBD. I have e-mailled lilstar the "how to ask for help" questionnaire and asked her to complete it. I will post if for her.

Ok he's a update frist this morring she seamed the same way I sprayed her cage I hand feed her water and mixed it with the calamine and d3 that you for the chricts and went back to bed then when I woke up I checked on her I could not find her and I saw some blood I was do up set I saw her on the bottom of the cage all twisted I thought she was a goner I moved the tree and picked her up with a tale and I prayed and cryed and here she was still I live she had a liitle blood on her head and was gasping like every one in a while it wasnt alotwas fine just thought she broke her neck so I call the vet made the apt earlyer so I toke her there they did extrays they said nothing was broken her lungs are fine and there's was even poop in her stumic it was cut befor she when for an ex ray it sames like she wave good bye all I saw was her hand waving but anyways they said nothing was wrong that ether she hurt her self or she has some kind of virus that's infecting her nerves so they told me I'm doing every thing rite in her cage and now I have to force feed her some meds and some kind of food mix I have to give her six times a day do I moved her back in her old cage it just has her driper and lights and a blaket no sticks so she dosnt fall and when she get better I put her back in her home plz wish me some prayers my way she is still has a great grip she just like twisted like almost like she's chancing her tail

was this vet a "certified" reptile veterinarian? It sounds like something worse than what they say, that's my opinion. Could be metabolic bone disease as already brought up, I haven't personally heard of a chameleon having a virus affecting the nervous system and I don't know why your vet would give you medication not knowing what is wrong except to take your money.

Also, did you actually mean "calamine" or calcium? Also, did you say you were giving calcium and vitamins at the same time? What supplements do you have? You need a plain calcium supplement without vitamin D3, a calcium supplement WITH D3, and a multivitamin. Do not give all at once, give plain every feeding, d3 twice a month, and vitamins once a month.

Please fill out the "how to ask for help" form so we can tell you if there is something wrong with your setup or care that may be causing this.

I agree that there must be some husbandry issue at the root of this problem. In an e-mail, I have suggested that she purchase liquid calcium and start giving that to her chameleon.

She gave me this information on her vet:

Location
1645 Hausman Road, Allentown, 18104

Description
Welcome to Simmonds Veterinary Hospital!

They say they deal with exotics and reptiles. Has anyone had experience with the Simmonds Veterinary Hospital?

Ok I ask the vet if she had mbd and she said that her bones in the X-ray look perficet and there was no sign of it but she said I could mix some calsum in what she have gave me to give her
This is the list
*oxbow diet it looks like a brown
Powder and I mix one part powder 1.5 water 6 times a day total of 5mls per day

* prednisone 1mg/ml give 0.1 by mouth once a day for 7 days
Then ever other day until check up

And she said I can mix calsum in too with the oxbow diet stuff

As I mentioned in an e-mail, if it were me, I would be giving liquid calcium every day. Sometimes the early stages of MBD don't show on x-rays.

oxbow is a supplemental diet for herbivores like rabbits! Not for chameleons! If she was eating her insects fine you should not have had to force feed her, I do not think the oxbow would be good for her!

Also, once a day is WAY too much for a chameleon! Their immune system is slower than other animals and medication should only need to be given every two to three days, I don't think your vet knows what she is doing. giving .1 every day could definitely overdose her. I don't know where allenstown is but you need to find out what species of reptiles your vet has treated and how much chameleon experience they have.

ALSO, if you are giving vitamins every time you feed her you would be overdosing on vitamin A and that could definitely be causing this as well. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fill out the form it would help us help YOU

What's the prednisone for? I am prescribed prednisone, I take 3 20mg pills a day. It makes me feel like shit, gives me insomnia and makes my stomach hurt. The drug has a lot of side effects.

On a side note prednisone lowers your immune system while on it just thought u should know that as well

this is what she looks like im so up set i feel like i cant do any thing she looks so helpless and i looked for help and in the end i just should of had that feeling the vet wasnt great becouse she was only nice to me at the end so i just rush to the closed one i found on the internet and i guss it was wrong theres nothing i can do is pray and keep trying to help her drink and feed her some thing ells :( i gusse i have to look for a merical i feel like im a failure and its my falt but everyone says it not i did every thing right but i still feel like i could of did some thing better :( i guss she just in gods hands now thats all i can do :(
