Rango, congratulations on finding the place you need to be! Welcome! Be advised that you will be told things that probably don't match up with what the pet store told you. There are a lot of reasons for that. One is that the store is in the business to make money and so wants to sell you things you don't need. Another is that chameleons are not like most reptiles and a lot of pet store employees don't realize that so give "general reptile" advise which is not appropriate. Finally, the advice you get here is from people who have been keeping chameleons, sometimes for decades, so experience has taught them things that aren't in any care sheet.
That said, there are lots and lots of people here and you will sometimes get conflicting advice. My suggestion when that happens is to touch base with a moderator and get their thoughts. The moderators are all long time, highly experienced keepers with broad knowledge of different chameleons. They can help you if things get confusing.
