If horned worms that I feed my chams eat ficus leaves inside the enclosure, then my chams eat the horned worms ,are they dangerous to my chameleons.? I have panthers, veild, and quads.
no, they shouldn't be. Ficus leaves are chameleon safe, so even if your chameleon ate them directly, they would not harm them. By the way, I don't believe hornworms will eat ficus leaves.
Thank u Carol,I put some horned worms in there n the next morning I seen half eaten leaves n I know crickets have never done that to the ficus before.the reason I was worried was because I've heard before someone lost a couple of geckos due to them eating crickets that ate ficus before.thank u again.
hmmm, I never knew horns would eat ficus!?. So you think the geckos died from the crickets eating ficus then? I know Ficus are one of the most popular plants used for chameleon enclosures and they are definitely safe so there should be no problem.
I'm pretty new to having chameleons but if I was a detective n I used process of elimination n knowing nothing can break into that cage.yes I would come to the only conclusion that the horned ate a few ficus Benjamina leaves.I've seen worm eaten leaves before. A petshop owner told me about the geckos dying.I beleived him .I was in my information gathering before i got my first chameleon.so he could b wrong. I've been seeing ur threads giving people advice on chams so respect m beleive ur advice more.thanks again Carol.thank u for ur time.
