need a UVA?

ive heard different opinions/facts on this so i just want to know if a uva is needed for a veiled? i have uvb and someone on here told me for heat i could just use a regular house hold lamp. also no one answered me this and ive posted it three times. my chams about 2.5 inches from nose to where his tail starts. how old is he?

YOu need a Reptiglo or reptisun 5.0 for uvb, and a regular house bulb for basking.
THATS ALL.

and he oculd be a few months old, but without pics, cant tell for sure.

Yes, a normal household incandescent bulb will provide the UVA spectrum of light. So between that your UVB bulb, your chameleon will have everything he needs. Obviously your household bulb doubles as the heat spot, so the wattage you use depends on the heat you need for the hot spot.

plus whats that little bit of white behind his casque? is that from a previous shed? i havent seen him shed yet...only had him for a week

i'd say 2 months or 2 and a half ,give or take a week

He looks to be about 3 months old.

and that white piece is shed. it should come off at some point.

babies can shed every 3-6 weeks. so hell shed soon.

2-21/2 is wat id say to. and babies keepig a little shed stuck on seems common mine did it to, I never messed with it, itll come off next time. They shed so often at that age its no concern
