Ivory Serpant had a video of some passionate veileds.

The neck extention also serves as means to better heat themselves. It increases the surface area. Mine do this all the time while basking. The real cocky veileds I have seen stick their tongue so far forward that it will pass their jaw bone. Those are the ones you really have to watch your butt around.
