My Yellow Lip Paraonii are here

Congrats everyone! I can't wait to watch these guys grow!

Assuming ALL of them are completely unrelated, they would max out at 4 generations at most.. But, it would be at least a decade before they ever got to that point, if they did...

By then, there's a possibility you could see a quota for WC(Given Madagascar takes a turn for the better.) And at that point you could introduce fresh blood.

If that makes any sense :p

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments!!!
Al you are dead on what I was thinking and these are just a starting point towards a captive population in the U.S. Jeremy is correct there WILL be some new blood available this coming year and I have been told that by more then one source and I think the information I've been given is credible.I'm under the impression it will be very limited but if the trend continues over the next few years it is feasible we could get a decent cb population established.

Congratulations on the new additions, they're beautiful. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, too. :)

Wow, talk about an early christmas present. Congrats on the new additions and the anniversary.

Keep posting the pictures. It is going to be great with the new quotas to legally (if Parsonii quotas actually happens) to be working with and keeping Yellow Lips in the USA and North America again. Again congratulations about obtaining CITES permits from Europe for this export of Yellow Lips.

I have to agree with Jeremy, Jurgen and Celine as well. That animal looks like an orange eye. I hope we're wrong, but the orange eye turret against a darker colored background is fairly typical of young orange eyed males. Here are photos of Steven Casto's Yellow-lip before it colored up:

Also, the new quotas from Madagascar are anything but a sure thing still. Time will tell, but I would avoid getting too hyped up about it yet. I've been hearing rumors like this since Madagascar closed in 1995. We are definitely closer than we've ever been, but it could still be a long way off yet.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!!! I'm going to keep that one animal for myself and let it grow up to be sure.
Thanks again!
Steve

afternoon all.

I wanted to provide an update on these animals as clearly there is quite a bit of interest.

It would seem after some discovery and feedback from others that these animals are indeed Orange Eye Parsonii. In Addition, after speaking to the supplier overseas, they have confirmed that this is the case and it was an accident and oversight. To that point, they did make things right on this end, so we are now able to move forward with these specific animals.

I also want to be clear to all that those who did pay either in part or full for the yellow lip animals, were given the option for refunds or an opportunity to buy these animals as 'Orange Eye' at a competitive price. Each made different choices and all have been, or will be, taken care of completely.

I am posting this to make sure that all are aware and that this process is/was transparent due to the fact that in many of these importing cases, things can sometimes seem a bit shady. My reputation, integrity, and hopes to bring nice animals to this hobby in the future are far more important to me than the immediate opportunity to make money.

I also want to say thanks to the many of you that posted your concerns and open feedback that these were not what was expected. This goes to Jeremy, Chris, Jurgen, and the others in this thread as well as others via PM.

In closing I will say that I will now post in the classified sections these Orange Eye's for sale. In addition, some pics will be posted of the actual animals.

Please respond with any questions you have, and thanks to all for looking and your interest.

Regards,

Steve

These are such incredible critters. Mix up or not, they're beautiful, and there will be some very proud folks to love them.

Sooooooooooo jealous. I would love to have one of those babies, but my boyfriend would kill me. I think we are maxed out right now. :(
