You are about to hear me tell you I used "those" lights and my male couldn't see well enough to catch crickets on his own. He had to be cup fed his whole life.

BEWARE of those light bulbs. I will never again use the compacts regardless of what anyone says.

Not to be rude or anything, but i haven't heard any stories of someones cham being blinded by these lights. I'm pretty sure the zoo med ones have been cleared.

Why was this moved...I did not ask for it to be moved, I did not ask for help, I know what I am doing even though you seem to think I am not. I trust the breeders I know because I know them in person, and not on a forum. I understand you are trying to help me. But I take this into offense that you think I don't know what I am doing.

I know I said poor baby is sick but that doesn't mean I am not taking care of him. He has been to the vet, and been to breeders I trust. I am taking care of him. He is being treated to be healed. He is in recovery and he is getting better rapidly. I was showing a picture just to show you my baby. I am not trying to be rude at all but read more carefully and ask resonable questions. I adopted him sick so I could heal and cure him to live a true full life.

What I find funny is you have never said who your breeder is lol but the top breeders are the ones giving you advise and they have probably sold enough chameleons to make your breeder look like a hobbiest. since this site is known by all the top breeders why isn't your chams breeder on here? Do they have a website?

He has been breeding and selling for many many many years and is a supplier to a few stores He also breeds other reptiles and has had almost every breed of chameleon.

But like I said I would like to get off the topic and more on the funny side of the xeno being a name not the Kinyongia xenorhina

Joopasaur, here is another case of a cham not exactly blinded but killed by compact fluorescent Desert series of RZilla product of over exposure of UVB and UVC (the company have recalled their products, but seemed like there are still some stores that sell them).

Well he opened his eyes for a little today ate like a pig (a healthy amount that is) and drank well.

So hopefully thats a good sign

I'm glad he is starting to open his eyes..hopefully he is on his way to a full recovery. Just out of curiosity, are you still using the eye drops from the vet? I haven't heard to many good things about ointments that people have gotten from their vets for their chameleon's eyes. I would just like to learn more about them.

The ointment made his eyes shut its very sticks and greasy looking and feeling I can't imagine it doing much so I stoped and he started getting better but I do need to get my self a curved tip syringe though

I am going to safely try some slight eye flushing to see if that helps if anyone can send me the name or link to the safe soloution it could help.

I wonder if the ointment is actually for chameleons or if is for a different animal because I haven't heard of any helping the chameleon's eye problem. Very interesting that vets are prescribing this when it seems to have adverse affects.
