The room mordecai is in can either be super bright or super dark. It's my Basement/bedroom. Which makes taking care of him a sinch. I would like to know what your guys opinions are on keeping the lights on through the day or just keeping them off.
you need to be more specific about your situation. When you say not leaving the lights on or off, are you talking your basking light and uvb light? How will your chameleon get warmth and uvb rays if you turn your lights off? Just because your room is bright does mean you can turn off your lights. If your room is very warm, you may not need a basking light but it depends on what your temps are.
I wouldn't turn off his lights that are essential to him. I'm talking about the main lights in my room. Not the ones aka UVB and basking I know he needs them for 12 hrs a day. The thing I'm talking about is specifically having a bright room as opposed to a darker room
The goal is to duplicate the environment where your chameleon's original habitat is like. If anything, I would lean toward more light during the day...
